Creative Art 
This series will introduce many art making methods and techniques for young artists to explore. Drawing, painting, printmaking, paper arts and sculpture will fill these creative classes. Our instructor will teach, demonstrate and provide lessons that will engage and develop much valued artistic skills.

 


Introduction to Drawing 
Ages 5-9

Drawing is a magical experience! A few marks of the paper can create a portrait, a landscape or even a favorite pet! Drawing is a way of seeing, storytelling and of having fun! Introduction to Drawing teaches the basic tricks and techniques to mastering drawing. This class will concentrate on concepts such as proportion, space, perspective, tone and composition. All concepts can be applied to still life, landscapes and the figure. Students will be required to keep a sketchbook with weekly assignments of at least 2 drawings per week as we will be using drawing materials such as pencils, drawing pens, and color pencils.

Drawing 
ages 10-14
The magical experience of drawing goes on! Concepts explored in introduction to drawing are continued to be explored and improved. Drawing skills will be further developed through the understanding of visual language through instruction/lecture. Drawing is fun and plays a significant part of many people’s lives. If a student can’t draw but has a passion to learn, it will provide a strong groundwork. If the student can already draw, it will improve their skills. A student should feel confident to draw throughout their education. Students will be required to keep a sketchbook with weekly assignments of at least 3 drawings per week as we will be using drawing materials such as pencils, drawing pens, and color pencils.
Introduction to Cartooning  
Ages 5-9
6 week session
This class will teach drawing principles and technical advice to enable students to create their own cartoons. Basic drawing skills are essential. If a student can put an idea or observation down through drawing than they can begin cartooning. The class will sharpen illustrative skills and teach them how to convey emotions through their characters by drawing expressions and gesture drawings. Students will be required to keep a sketchbook so that their imagination and skills may be put to use.

 

Cartooning  
Ages 10-14
This class is for the student who wants to improve their cartooning skills. No prior cartooning experience is need but basic drawing skills are essential. This class will teach students how to bring their characters to life through expressive drawing. Students will learn the devices to bring stories to live such as suggested acting, noises and character goal. Drawing Techniques specifically needed for cartooning are explored and strengthened. Students will be required to keep a sketchbook so that their imagination and skills may be put to use.

 

 

Art for Little ‘Loos

Spend quality time during this interactive art class for Little ‘Loos. This Mommy (or Daddy) and Me class is a perfect way to foster your child’s inner creative genius. Spend this hour dabbling in a variety of different art projects.
